Tutorial

Need a push in the right direction? OK!

RSS is simple. A few steps to learn and it'll always work the same way. Here is an example on obtaining the feed from CNN. For an introduction to the terms used and general troubleshooting please refer to our About and Help -sections.

#1 Having opened the cnn.com website you will notice the appearance of the RSS icon rss icon. This indicates that the website serves RSS. With this information, you could now create a page and type in http://cnn.com as a new feed source to subscribe to CNN.

NOTE: Internet Explorer6 does not have native RSS support. The icon will not appear. Upgrade to the latest IE or download Mozilla Firefox. Check your Explorer version from Help:About Internet Explorer. See #3 on how to proceed.

#2 Clicking the orange feed icon will reveal all available RSS feeds. Clicking any of the listed feeds might add it your browser's live bookmarks, but this is not what we want (in this case, see #3). Look for an option to subscribe, that's likely the original source: copy that link for use in feedraider.

#3 (optional) Scan the webpage for any signs of RSS, XML or the icon itself. Click on the provided RSS link/icon to get a usable feed link.

rss cnn buttons

#3.1 (optional) A list of all feeds is presented with their URLs. Copy and paste any of these feed locations for use when creating/editing feedraider pages.
