Is Japanese Language difficult to learn?

Japanese is easy to learn as it has only few sounds, 5 vowels, simple pronunciation scheme, few grammar rules and little restrictions on sentence structure. Yet Japanese is also considered as hard to learn due to mixture of different types of characters: kanji, hiragana, katakana and Roman letters.
