Coming Soon to a TV Near You! “The Basketball Jones”
Thursday, October 22, 2009The Basketball Jones is an experience. J.E. Skeets and Tas Melas star in this basketball based audio / video podcast / experience. It is my favorite thing on the interwebs, period. They are funny, smart, and talented. They went to school for this stuff. They are graduates of Ryerson University’s Radio & Television Arts program.
The show is a must watch for any sports or basketball fan. Watch the montage of last years moments on the bottom of this post. My headline is a little misleading. There is no news of them moving to actual TV… yet. Trust me that it is only a matter of time. They need to turn this montage in to a few sports networks. Start watching them now, if you did not heed my advice last year. They will be on TV with a nightly show in the next 12 months. Their show is that good.
They will have an E True Hollywood story done on them in 5 years, after the peek of their success. Tas will have moved to L.A. for the show. He will hang out with the wrong crowd and get addicted to betting on Mahjong tournaments. Without Tas to hold him back, J.E. will spend all of his time, effort, and money in recreating the final bike riding course from the movie Rad. After they both hit rock bottom, they will move to Greece. Tas will become a singing sensation in his Motherland. Skeets will open an NBA themed Karaoke bar. ( This paragraph was a dramatization. )
My point is that you have to start watching the show, so you can say that you watched them back in the day. Support them by watching the show. Tell everyone you know about them. Subscribe, and watch the whole season. They are about to start daily episodes soon. Buy a shirt and be the hippest NBA fan ever!
