Last Saturday in Beijing, our final full day in China, Yuhang and I visited the Imperial City, popularly called the Forbidden City. The main gate to that massive walled compound of 980 beautiful buildings is named the Gate of Heavenly Peace or Tiananmen, marking the north end of that famous and infamous square of the same name—the largest public square in the world.
