A match that won't burn down your house
November 19th, 2007 16:25

Everyone loves the glow of an open flame, but starting a fire in your home without a fireplace isn't recommended. Designer Chetan Sorab has come up with the Match-light, which looks like a pile of glowing matchsticks, to help rekindle the romance in your life.
Instead of a set pile of matches, Sorab designed each Match-light with a magnetized body, so you can stack and arrange the glowing lights anyway you want. Interestingly, only one of the matchstick lights has a power cord, as electricity is passed to the other lights through induction. While the Match-light is still in the design stage, it would be great if it went into production and offered for sale before February. — Stephen Schleicher
